Not much!

I'm sorry to say there hasn't been much happening here in the studio at Chez Magpie.  Monday I was gone all day teaching the beginner landscape workshop to a guild about an hour and a half away.  Yesterday I spent getting ready for a thread painting workshop I'm taking today, as well as having coffee in the afternoon with a friend.  Needless to say there hasn't been any progress on my landscape to show you.  It's a busy week but all fun things.  So...you know what that means, don't you...

- There's a very good article HERE regarding the use of a walking foot on your sewing machine.  I have one but really haven't explored its uses enough.

Well then...that was a bust.  I ran out of time to give you even any more mumbles than that.

So...how about a picture of the beautiful flowers I got for Mother's Day?

Today's quote...

  1. Someone is fighting their own demons and we can't know how difficult their battle is - it's true, always.

    1. You're so right - we don't know the battles that others face and we have to remember to be kind.

  2. I hope your workshop went well. You prepare so thoroughly that I'm guessing it did. What's the thread painting about? That sounds interesting.

    1. I hope it went well - the ladies seemed happy so that's what counts. The class I took today was fun...the first step was to stitch around all the elements of the panel design and then add details afterwards. I have a long way to go before mine is finished!

    1. I don't think I've ever had a bouquet that has so many different flowers included...and yes, it's lovely!

  4. I have used my walking foot when sewing clothing if the fabric is sheer or slippery. Haven't tried it quilting yet. Perhaps that will be my next learning experience.

    God bless.

    1. I really need to play with my walking foot to learn how to use it properly. Never thought of using it on clothing (although I don't sew clothes).

Sherryofcreateology: I am happy you are teaching your skills to others. Your quote today is a very good reminder that our problems are not always the worst. I hope you are enjoying Spring.

    1. I hope the 'students' are enjoying what I have to teach them. Sadly I rarely get to see the finished products.
