Progress

There's been a step forward on the landscape with the sky now being quilted and added (also done with circles).  I've also added borders but the jury is out as to what I'll do with them.  I do know that there will be lots of embroidery to come, along with a little surprise too.

Sorry about the horrid photo but my editing program simply would not work this morning.

- Some of you might find THIS of interest.

- I'm  sharing THIS primarily because of how pretty they are, but you can print them for your own use if you'd like.

- Perhaps you'd like to have a play with THESE.

Today's quote is from Pope Francis..."I ask you to ensure that humanity is served by wealth and not ruled by it"

  1. Your landscape project is coming along so well--I really like the circling idea...what kind of thread did you choose to use? I tried using reg. embroidery floss on outlining my Fish for Dark Days May prompt and it snarled, tangled, got uneven, broke, and knotted up no matter how I straightened it or even used beeswax!! I will be going back to my favorite perle No 8 cotton...am i the only person who has this problem, I wonder??? Anyway--Happy upcoming weekend hugs, Julierose;)))

    1. The brown circles were done with a #8 Valdani perle cotton and the sky circles were done with a thinner variagated pearl cotton that I think once belonged to my grandmother. It's been in my stash for more years than I can count and of course there's no label on it. It could even be a fine crochet cotton (which would make more sense because she knitted lace and trims for doilies). I generally don't have too much trouble with using floss - just be sure to separate the strands first before putting them back together to work with. For some reason that seems to help.

    1. It's reached the stage now where there's going to be a lot of handwork so progress will slow down for awhile.

  7. Looking good, editor working or not. I like that quote from the new Pope, very timely for the world right now.

    1. I think the problem with editing the photo is more about the fact that it's all pretty much the same colour.
