Yes, there's nothing to show you - again. I know - what's Chez Magpie coming to when there's nothing to report about. I can show you the panel I've been working at thread painting but you really can't tell what I've done at this point so this is a picture of the panel from the internet...
The class I took on Wednesday was to learn how to highlight a panel to make it look a lot more interesting. Using invisible thread means it doesn't show but trust me there's been a LOT of stitching done.

That was a weird title -- how to make flower pots at home. I think she means how to organize container gardens. She buys the pots. I was thinking molding them from clay, rope, etc. But she does have nice examples of arrangements

About your stitching, yes there's a lot of unseen work in fiber arts that makes all the difference between okay and great. As you know.
I noticed that too, but I liked the article so thought it was worth sharing. And you're quite correct - there's a lot of what happens with stitching that ends up being hidden from easy view.
DeleteDandelion candy? To accompany a glass of dandelion wine? (I live just north of Waukegan where Ray Bradbury grew up and set his novel Dandelion Wine.)

ReplyDeleteActually, it doesn't. Most of it is done using invisible thread and then some areas will be 'highlighted' with coloured thread. In my case I'll mainly be using metallic white for the snow. Right now I'm stitching the pine needles.
DeleteSherryofcreateology: I do really like this Winter panel you are thread embellishing. I used to do Trapunto on panels and it was a lot of work but the end results were wonderful. I adore the tiny button books. I would tie crochet thread into the holes before gluing on the pages. Oh these quotes are so pertinent right now for we Americans. Happy Weekend Dear…

ReplyDeleteI don't think you'll be able to see much in the way of progress because it's almost entirely done using invisible thread. Hard to show the details in a photo, sadly. Once I put the glitter on it might show up better.
