Another small addition

I hope all of you who celebrated Mother's Day had a good one.  Today I am off doing another teaching gig which entails getting up at dark-thirty in order to get to the venue in time.

As you can see, over the weekend I added a tree to the landscape....

- THIS would be fun to try.

- Have a look through the galleries of THIS artist!  Note what he uses for raw materials.

- THIS is a rather ingenious method for keeping ribbons in check.

- Further on rusting fabrics (since that's what I'm working with at the moment), I thought you might find THIS interesting.

Today's quote..."If it's not yours, don't take it.  If it's not right, don't do it.  If it's not true, don't say it.  If you don't know, then zip it"

    1. This needed a tree I think. And yes, a lot of people would benefit from learning to 'zip it', for sure.

  2. I really like the vessels made from found objects and debris, very successful.

    1. The tree still needs a bit of work but so far I'm happy with it.

Sherryofcreateology: MA I love your hand sewn circles on the rust fabric and the sky. Your tree is wonderful because you have left lot of “holes” that the birds can fly through or into the limbs. I always find something in your links that attracts me…however I never get them made. My learning watercolor is consuming me and my time. I like this quote. Happy Week Dear.

    1. The circles certainly took awhile to stitch but I guess that's the whole point. Slow stitching is a good thing. I sometimes wish I could paint watercolours but I know my limitations.

  6. Years ago I followed Thread Art until she sadly stopped posting. She had so many inspiring ideas. I used leaf idea for a ladies' day. Machine wrote Bible verse reference on them. We used them as a coaster. I have posted.
Tree looks good. Do you have a trick for deciding proportions?

    1. No, I don't have any tricks, other than just eyeballing it until I think it looks okay. Very scientific process!!

  7. Catching up backwards, that landscape looks fun. I love the stitching in the round. I'm looking forward to backing up to the point where you show your inspiration. :)

    1. My inspiration for this one was actually the rusted fabric which then morphed further when I found the piece with the poem written on it. Wish I could remember where I got it!
