Don't forget that I now respond
to your comments directly here on the

previous post(s) for those!
I just finished the latest landscape - except for the framing. This one will be finished with a frame, rather than as a wall hanging, so now the quest is on to find a frame that will suit. Silly me - should have bought the frame first! Oh well....
...and, to refresh your memory, this is the photo I was working from...
SOLD!
Another great anonymous quote..."My housekeeping style is best described as "There appears to have been a struggle"
I have a photo that looks much like your piece...I can only imagine the time it too. Out of home owning too, just a quick broom sweep I'm done. But sent the tips on to a few! 😉
ReplyDeleteApartment life sure does make cleaning a whole lot faster! If we still had a house I'd be trying to use a number of those tips, for sure.
DeleteThere's a mass of info in this post! The house tips alone were a course in home maintenance. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! Glad you found something of interest in all my mumblings.
DeleteI very often do, but don't always remember to mention it!
DeleteWould you believe I rather like house cleaning. =) Your house and car work of art is beyond fabulous, ma dear! You might have to get you Jack to build you one.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind most cleaning chores but must say that I hate dusting. It's the most thankless chore there is! Alas no building of frames here - no tools any longer and no space for it. There was a day when he would have happily built frames thought!
DeleteWell done! It's fabulous. When I frame my textile pieces, simple is best. Most of the time, I use a white mat and black frame. More great links. thanks
ReplyDeleteThank you Judy - it was a fun one to work on and I'm happy with it. Hopefully our son likes it as well, since he's requested it. Framing professionally is not on the agenda so will go with what I can find that will fit - it's not going in a gallery so doesn't need to be anything fancy.
DeleteWow, that turned out beautifully!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cathy - I enjoyed every minute of working on this one, even though the car scared me (a lot!!)
DeleteYou have done the most fabulous job recreating this landscape Mary Anne. I love it! Hope you find the perfect frame! Have a lovely week! Christine xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine - I don't know about fabulous but I'm happy with it anyway.
DeleteMary Anne Dear I love your fabric quilt version of this landscape far better than the actual photo. You really do create magic with fabric and thread. Fun quote and I can relate as I just got off the floor on hands and knees to dust the barstool legs because I only saw the inches of dust while company is here. I hope your weather is warming. We officially got 4 inches of snow Sunday night! Very rare for Southern Utah.
ReplyDeleteOh the dust that magically only appears when company is there (cobwebs too!). I'm sure it sits there, giggling in glee, knowing that you're embarrassed. 4" of snow - wow! I'll bet you weren't happy to see that. Luckily it shouldn't last. We're in for another storm tomorrow apparently.
DeleteBeautiful old house and old car picture, Mary Anne. Please share your son's response to the picture once he receives it. What a great gift! And the chained hearts look pretty. I'm going to have to give that a try!
ReplyDeleteThank you Becki - hopefully he'll be happy with it. Even if he isn't, he's getting it anyway!
DeleteJAW. DROPPING. (I'm running out of adjectives to describe your talent my dear.) I love the image so much and you have really brought it to life with your art. And there appears to have been a struggle in my house as well. Thankfully we will have company on Friday and Sunday so I will be forced to clean haha!
ReplyDeleteI really hope you didn't hurt your jaw! I am happy with this one but wait until you see the next one I'm going to work on - I can't wait. Enjoy your company!
DeleteThat quilt is a favorite!
ReplyDeleteIt one of my favourites too, and I'm happy it's going to our son where at least I might get to see it once in awhile.
DeleteOh wow, it almost looks just like the picture! I still have yet to search my photos for you, but I will. I wasn't driving, but saw something that make me think of you and now I can't remember where it was... ugh!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was aiming for close to the original picture but always end up adding my own touches too. No worries about hurrying to look through your photos because I have a few ahead of me that I want to do. If you happen across an old church or schoolhouse please do think of me though.
DeleteOh, that looks great. The car is so perfect. Don't forget to show it again when you find the perfect frame.
