I am procrastinating starting on a landscape commission because I'm not sure where I want to go with it quite yet so while the brain ruminates on that, I started something else altogether. I've cross stitched several of these little hearts which will end up being turned into postcards eventually.
And...the mail lady has delivered several balls of yarn and some pearl cotton ready to use for my fusion quilt. See?....
- You might want to consider making some of THESE for the cooler fall weather.
- HERE is something fun for your fall decor.
- THESE would be fun to make for gifts.
Fingerless gloves are great. I've made so many to give. That's a nice pattern, too.
ReplyDeleteSeveral years ago I had requests from the restaurant staff where #1 son worked to make them those gloves so I guess they're pretty popular.
DeleteSo agree with everything in that list...talk about words to live by. Your cross stitched heart is so sweet! And you are going to make a fusion quilt...that method is so neat...I am tempted. I will definitely enjoy watching you work it. Isn't it great to still have creative juices flowing!
ReplyDeleteI'm in a hurry up and wait mode while I wait for the fabric to arrive for the fusion quilt. Might be a couple weeks yet because I pre-ordered it.
DeleteI absolutely love ❤️ this quote as well. You cross stitching is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done any cross stitching for ages so I'm enjoying it although I think if I do too much more I'm going to have to invest in better lighting.
DeleteSherryofcreateology: Your stitched heart is beautiful! Your handmade postcards are always so beautiful and thoughtful. Those textile artists you shared are amazing with their creations. My knitting abilities are not up to making those amazing socks you knit nor these fingerless mittens. I do like the Air Dry Clay Essential Oil Diffusers. The list of 1-20 daily do’s is perfect and so needed at this time in our world. Growing up this is what my parents taught me. The real Golden Rule…not the one that says, “He who has all the Gold Rules!”. Relaxing weekend to you and RC dear. You must be getting ready for your trip soon.
ReplyDeleteUmmm - do you know something I don't? Is the RC going on a trip without me?? Wishful thinking isn't getting me anywhere at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of cross stich postcards. Those would be so very unique.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I'm not sure but what I've decided on a too-time consuming thing with this particular series of postcards but now that I have all the hearts done I am pretty much committed (or maybe, just maybe, some would say *I* should be committed?).
DeleteWhat a beautiful piece of embroidery.
ReplyDeleteThis postcard deserves to be framed when it's finished.
I hope you enjoy stitching and knitting.
Best wishes from Viola
Thank you Viola. Come back tomorrow and you'll see one of the postcards stitched and ready for the backing.
DeleteI think making a postcard with your cross stitching is pretty special. Looking forward to see how you finish it off - and what you do with these. Not that you have to do anything with them, but I am curious.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow's post will clarify what I'm doing, provided I don't run out of ooomph before I'm done.
DeleteI always love it when the mail person brings crafty items!!
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't happen as often anymore because I'm really trying not to buy anything without using my stash first. In this case my stash simply didn't yield the colourway I need, nor enough of anything to make an entire quilt.
