For those of you who have an Instagram account, this is something you should be aware of and probably will want to deal with. Be safe!
Over the weekend I put the finishing stitches on these socks. They're in the watermelon colourway by Premier yarns. Our #1 son likes funky socks so guess who is getting these for Christmas!
- HERE is a technique you might like to try.
- THIS is another awwww-thing.
- I can think of a few people who would get a kick out of one of THESE.
- I'm not normally a huge fan of crocheted garments, but THIS one caught my fancy.
Today your quote is from Erasmus..."The less talent they have, the more pride, vanity and arrogance they have. All these fools, however, find other fools who applaud them"
I love those "watermelon" socks!! What fun!! :))) Nice work on these...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI think our son will love them (at least I hope he will!)
DeleteThe socks are fun. He'll love them. About ig or any other Z owned entity, I think the best move is to close the account.
ReplyDeleteI've never succumbed to Instagram but thought some people might find that information useful. As for the socks, I think he'll like them.
DeleteThe socks are great. I never went on Instagram and do not plan to. I used to be on Facebook for decades. I closed my account in April 2025 and don't miss it. I only use Blogger.
ReplyDeleteI have a very limited presence on Facebook - primarily to be able to share things with our kids. If it weren't for that I wouldn't bother with it either.
DeleteLove the socks!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tip!
I just started using Instagram again yesterday. It sounds like a very stupid feature for Instagram to have.
May
It sounds quite dangerous actually. They don't need to know your location.
Deletelove the socks and the duck. Just wish I could crochet, but could never get the hang of it. Never use Instagram, so I'm good for a change!!
ReplyDeleteI taught myself how to both knit and crochet. I'm sure I have tons of bad habits.
Deletefirst) those socks are so doggone cute!!! and B) i really like the crocheted cardigan and 3) i actually have yarn already!!! i could even start it today!!! and lastly) that is SO not gonna happen
ReplyDeleteawww, c'mon - you know you want to make that sweater.
DeleteThose socks are awesome. Another gift for the Christmas box. You are so far ahead of me in that regard. I really need to figure some things out for gifts this year.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I work on the Christmas box all year long so it's not so stressful in the fall. Of course it sometimes leads to me making too much!
DeleteThose watermelon socks are very snazzy. How cool there is wool that resembles a watermelon. People's imaginations never cease to amaze me.
ReplyDeleteI thought the watermelon theme was pretty cool so I couldn't resist.
DeleteGreetings MA: Thank-you for the information, I will pass on to my friends and their children. love the socks, so pretty, yum watermelon, did you cut it up yet? giggles. Thank-you for the interesting links.
ReplyDeleteCatherine
You're welcome. And no, we haven't cut into the watermelon yet. It needs to ripen a bit more before it's ready to eat.
DeleteSherryofcreateology: Hello Dear. IG is not my favorite however I shall check my location status …thank you. I adore your watermelon socks for your #1 Son. Another perfect quote for “We the People”.
ReplyDeleteI don't use Instagram but I know a lot of people do. I rather like those socks too so hopefully our son will as well.
DeleteI love those socks! I need to just delete my IG account. I found it pretty useless once they set a limited number of posts under any hashtag I can see (seemed to happen a couple of years ago). I rarely visit anymore. This PSA might be the impetus I need to actually log in and delete my account. One less useless thing on my phone.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the fact that they can know where you live - not exactly safe in my estimation. At least there seems to be a workaround, but I'm still not about to open an account.
DeleteLOVE the colorful socks. I'm sure my great grand son would too, because yesterday I was sent a video of him watching his Mom drive a tractor and as my daughter backed the camera we got a look at his socks. One was light blue and one red. His Mom said he chose them and would wear the other pair tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteOur son is a chef and the staff in his restaurant always had to check what socks he wore every day so he prided himself on the funkier the better. I think these will go over well.
