I'm stitching away on this project and here you can see the progress so far. The cat was, at one time, an earring. I had Jack drill a tiny hole in each eye (ouch!!) so I could attach it with beads. The 'Prada' metal tag was from a pair of jeans I picked up at the thrift store. The gingko leaf was a to-my-stash-from-Arlee's-stash giftie from awhile back. Thanks SIS! ***updated to add: I lied, the 'Prada' tag wasn't from a pair of jeans! It was from a second-hand purse I was gifted with. oops.***
As usual, you can click on the image to embiggin if you so desire.
Clicking doesn't make the pic bigger, but it does sharpen it and put it on a black background. It doesn't work the way old blogger used to, though.
ReplyDeleteThis is looking gorgeous. Love the technique of the beads for eyes and to attach it to the background.
ReplyDeleteI also love all those beautiful seam treatments. Are you having fun, or what!!!
Very nice! Love the gingko leaf.

Beautiful stitching on your CQ piece MA - you're our queen of the crazy quilting!
ReplyDeleteI had no trouble at "embiggening" your photo - all crystal clear.
Hope you're having a relaxing weekend in your neck of the woods.

PRADA???? wow this blog is getting far too posh for me to visit! I love this rich colour scheme Mary Anne, it is sumptuous.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! The idea of using blacks is great. That's what I think of when I think of crazy quilts. A friend of mine made CQ's all the time and one year it was made with all African fabric. She had lots of black, and divided each block with black strips. It was gorgeous.
