Number 10

Here's postcard # 10
The photo doesn't show that there's a
lot of gold metallic on this one.

Today your quote is from Elizabeth Johnson (and suits me to a 't')...
"Really I don't dislike to cook, but what you cook is eaten so quickly.  When you sew, you have something that will last to show for your efforts"

  1. Now I do like to cook, because the process is full of pleasure and it ends in food you can give. You don't just cook as a production, any more than you stitch just to get something made. The journey is full of interest and adventure. And you have memories of wonderful food forever! I still remember meals in the family I worked in, in France, sixty years ago. So even if the food is consumed, its reality is still there. Just as real as something you can hold in your hand.

  4. Number 10 is lovely. How true that saying is. Dinner is so quickly eaten and then it is dishes - am not really inspired with cooking every day BUT quilts - that's just something special you get to look at or give away - Much Better!

  5. Love this postcard. I have been following Learn Embroidery for a really long time. She sure does know a lot of embroidery stitches. Wish we knew more about HER!

    Thanks for mumbling.

  10. Your postcards are so beautiful. They are such a labor of love. Today's quote is perfect for me! I really do not enjoy spending hours planning, shopping, preparing and cooking just to have it eaten in a few minutes. And it is such a thankless job!!! I would much rather sew or do most any other creative endeavor.
