A couple of additions and sky fall

Over the weekend I stitched a couple more areas on the latest hussif.

I know I've repeated a scissors motif, but it's really difficult to come up with enough different designs that pertain to the sewing theme.  I figure that we all own more than one pair of scissors and so I can get away with it!

Last night we had issues with our power which kept going on and off until finally it settled for 'off' and we were dark for about two hours.  We went to bed early and this morning we woke up to this....

Above is our balcony railing.
Below is the tree that is just beyond our
apartment.  To the left of the picture you can
*just* see a bit of our snow-covered car.

YUCK!!

Today your quote is from Carl Reiner.... "A lot of people like snow.  I find it to be an unnecessary freezing of water"

Amen.

  1. For sure you can get away with adding another pair of scissors. They look lovely. And the embroidered girl is so pretty.

This got me thinking just how many pairs of scissors I might have... 6 just for sewing, 4 or 5 embroidery and 4 every day scissors (everyone knows not to use my sewing and embroidery scissors) and then there are scrapbooking scissors. Oh and the hair cutting scissors. My goodness... that's a little embarrassing. Maybe I need to do a post about my scissor collection... lol.

I was out shoveling snow this morning. I had to come in and warm up before going out to finish the job and now they are saying it's supposed to snow again tonight!!

I hope you'll come link up to the Stitchery Link Party today.

  3. I adore your multiple scissors and I do believe we all own more than a few pairs. That is the cutest little girl embroidery. Your snow is beautiful to view from inside a warm cozy room. Love the quote today! Stay safe and warm and cozy dear...

  4. Hello Mary Anne! Hope you are tucked inside warm with all that snow outside! I find snow is fine if you don't have to go out!! Love your new pair of scissors.... I have a lot more than just two pairs so I think it is perfectly acceptable! Christine x

  5. I like that little lady a lot! Wow, you did get snow and it looks heavy. We are getting another 5" today on top of the 3 we got yesterday. I suppose we shouldn't complain. The worse worry is if it gets too heavy and breaks power lines, and accidents. I'm thankful I don't have to go out into it.

  6. I love the scissors in fact I think a cloth covered with those would be wonderful....I do love snow (just so long as I don't need to go anywhere!)

  7. Why does every design have to be different? The interpretations could vary or change perhaps.

  9. Beautiful additions!

I saw the first snow picture and thought about our snowman conversation - embroidered snow is still the best snow. Warm wishes heading your way!

  10. Hi Mary Anne

I like the sewing theme on the latest husiff. The snow looks so pretty viewed from Florida but I would not like to be shoveling or driving in it. Hope you and Jack are both doing well.

    Happy New Year.

  13. Oh heavens, hope you have plenty of food and candles in - lol
Snow is so pretty when it first falls but really its nicer to see in pictures than actually have it stick around for long!
    Great scissor stitching!

  14. YES I am one of those snow lovers MA!
I confess I usually have the choice to not go out in it rather enjoy it from the window. Driving in it is NOT fun.
Also not fun to lose conveniences...hope all is retored.
    Stay cozy and warm.
