Embroidery that's out of this world!!

I had heard (and read a little bit) about the costumes that have been created for the television show 'Game of Thrones' and, although I don't watch the show, I was intrigued enough to find out more and oh boy, did I!!!!    I have to share the link with you so that you can go and be amazed and the absolutely incredible detail that went into items that were probably only seen fleetingly in the show.

The quote for today is from Og Mandino.... "I will love the light for it shows me the way.  I will endure the darkness for it shows me the stars"

  1. Wow, that was amazing! I've now put Eliz. I on hold at the library, partly to see the embroidery, partly to see Helen Mirren.

  2. So far I've only watched the first two seasons of Game of Thrones. My favorite costumes were the insect gowns. I think they used stumpwork and beadwork for those. Absolutely gorgeous! Wish I could make them. Of course a gown wouldn't work but I can see wearing a vest with one or two dragonflies on it. :-)

  3. yes, I've seen these. Costume design is fascinating and awe inspiring. The teams dedicated to creating these costumes are huge....now how do you get a job like that??
