Button - of the Dorset kind

Yesterday was our monthly CQTeers meeting and Irene showed us how to make Dorset buttons, something I've been intending to try doing and hadn't gotten around to it.  Here's my effort...

Definitely not perfect, but not bad for a first effort!

Today's quote is from Benjamin Franklin...  "To lengthen thy life, lessen thy meals"

  2. Never heard of these before, so I followed your lead, googled on them and found all sorts of interesting history. Also a few pix of beaded Dorset buttons...hmmmmm.

  3. WOW it's amazing Mary Anne!
Looks very complicated - I'll google it and find a tutorial.
I thought you might have made these on Karen Rouane's class.

  5. I am familiar with these buttons as I was actually born in Dorset (UK) and my mum taught me how to make these.
    Great work on yours.

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
