I'm back

Rest in Peace
Robert "Bob" Michie
December 27, 1920 - October 5, 2010

Dad passed away peacefully with us by his side last night just after supper.  He was home with us, in his own bed, where he wanted to be.

He has lived with us for eleven years (since my mother died) and it was a decision we made that we have never for one minute regretted.  He has been a pleasure to have with us and I'm so grateful that we were able to give him the home he wanted.

Thank you so very much to all of you who have been praying and sending your best wishes to us.  I'm sure it was because of those that his passing was so comfortable.  I could never begin to repay you all for your kindness but please know how much it has been appreciated by Jack, RJ, Shawn, myself and Dad.  Just knowing you were there gave us all great comfort.

  3. Hi Mary Anne
Being with your father when he passed was a gift of peace to you and to him. Knowing he was comfortable and with those he loved, will give you peace of mind in the future, believe me. A part of him will always remain with you in your home.
    Blessings to you and yours.

  18. Sister Magpie,
I am very sorry for your loss. You were there for him and that is so very important. You will have the memories of the time he shared in your home, such a special time. I am sure he appreciated having a home with you. After your mom passed, would have been a lonely time for him without you. I pray for you and your family, in your loss of a loved one.

    Love to you,
    Debbie

  24. It's wonderful that you were able to take care of your father right to the end of his time on earth.

Much to be proud of, and now time for you perhaps to get a bit of rest and recover yourselves?
