Another yard sale find!

While I've been touring around on the Where Bloggers Create studio tour I've been struck by how perfect an inspiration board would be in my 'new' studio space.  Actually I've wanted one for awhile but seeing a few on the tour has added fuel to my desire.

So - we went to a few yard sales (in the rain) this morning and I stumbled on this.......

It's plastic but once it's painted up I don't think anyone will know.  It had an ugly mirror in it which we've removed already.  I got it and a piece of rug canvas for $3 (probably could have gotten it for less, but I felt sorry for the poor lady standing in the rain trying to sell her stuff).

Now I'm off to find the can of paint and start the re-do!

  1. I would love to make an inspiration board too...have been thinking on it for awhile now. You have some great stuff there and are using it wisely. Want to see it when you get it done and put together.

  3. You've jogged me into looking at a couple of the studios. So now I suppose I'm going to have to do something better with mine. Tidy it up for a start. Like your inspiration board idea.

  7. Great find! Make sure that you put your picture, right smack dab in the middle as it's a "Mirror, mirror, on the wall. Who's the fairest one of all?" type of thing. LOL! Besides, all the other inspirational stuff can be fit around YOUR picture.

  12. Great find! I think I really need to start hunting up some yard/garage sales... but living out in the country makes it a bit more challenging to find them!
Can't wait to see what you do with the frame. Inspiration board... I'll have to think about doing one of those, just not sure where I would put it.

Thank you for pointing out the studio/creative spaces, so many lovely places that people create in. Sigh. I can't wait for my "some day" to come when I'll have my own little space too! :)

  14. MaryAnne do you know that they now have a spray paint just for plastics.
It might be Rust-O-Leum. The mirror will be very pretty when painted.
